Amy Lawson joined Embry Merritt Womack Nance, PLLC, in March 2020.  She is of counsel and joins the firm’s workers’ compensation and civil litigation departments.  Amy has practiced Kentucky workers’ compensation law and civil litigation in the Lexington, Kentucky area for 17 years, and is excited to assist in growing our Lexington practice in both areas. She brings with her numerous valued clients, including but not limited to Advance Auto Parts, Vanliner Insurance, Sedgwick, Adecco, ESIS, Akera, HealthSmart and Armour Risk.

While originally from Louisiana, Amy graduated from the University of Kentucky in 2000 with a Bachelor of Arts in History and a minor in Political Science.  Thereafter, she graduated from the University of Kentucky College of Law in 2003 with a Juris Doctorate, where she enjoyed participating nationally as a member of the UK Trial Team and interning with the Commonwealth’s Attorney.  Amy has practiced with three large civil litigation and workers’ compensation firms located within the city of Lexington since obtaining her law license and passing the Kentucky bar in 2003.  She has focused much energy and attention in her practice within the scope of Kentucky workers’ compensation law, enjoying success in representing her clients at the trial and appellate levels.

Amy is a wife, mother of four, and both presently and over the years has spent valuable time volunteering innumerable hours within the Fayette County Public school system in the PTA/PTSA and SBDM boards at the elementary, middle and high school levels,as well as volunteer work with Eastern Little League, Lexington Junior League, and Cathedral of Christ the King.
